Course Description:  This course will cover Improvised Explosive Devices (IED’s), both nationally and internationally, with a focus on devices discovered in the Pacific Northwest.  It will also discuss the importance of developing a partnership between the SRO, Patrol, and the school administration when considering how to respond to bomb threats and explosive devices.

Instructor Bio:

1986-1999- Active Duty, US Army, 10 years of which were as a Special Agent in the US Army Criminal Investigations Command.  1999-2002- Reservist, US Army, Special Agent, US Army Criminal Investigations Command.    

   2000-Current:  Deputy with King County Sheriff’s Office.  Currently Assigned as Bomb Technician    and Explosives Canine Handler with the Bomb Disposal Unit.
