Course Description

During this workshop participants will be able to identify signs of CSEC, risks of victimization, creative ways of interviewing victims, ways to handle mandated reporting and addressing victim's concerns about reporting and safety. In addition participants will gain a better understanding of the extensive case management techniques to keep clients engaged with services and law enforcement for investigation purpose, importance of medical advocacy, and importance of collaboration with law enforcement and other service providers to assist the victims

Instructor Bio:

Azra Grudic is an Advocate Specialist at Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse (PICAA). Over the past 4 years in collaboration between PICAA and Denney Juvenile Justice Center Azra works directly with incarcerated youth providing advocacy services to victims  of sexual and physical violence, child abuse, and domestic minor sex trafficking. She is passionate about working with at risk youth and finding new creative ways to advocate for detained youth identified as victim of crime. Azra consults and provides technical assistance to various agencies including: Probation, Drug Courts, Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers, Law Enforcement, and such.  Azra has earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University.
