2023 National Summit on K-12 School Safety and Security
November 1st & 2nd, 2023
Please join the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for the 2023 National Summit on K-12 School Safety and Security on November 1-2, 2023. This two-day, virtual event will convene school safety experts, practitioners, and leaders from across the country to discuss current threats in school safety and explore research-informed strategies for addressing security challenges and risks in K-12 schools.
Registration is now open for the Summit and attendance is free of charge. Sessions are planned for all members of the K-12 community and will include keynote remarks, master class presentations, and panel discussions on issues such as planning and resourcing for school safety, cybersecurity and online safety, school climate and whole student support, violence prevention and early intervention, recovery from emergency events, school safety grants, and student mental health. The Summit is designed to foster a nationwide dialogue on school safety, as well as equip school stakeholders and personnel with resources, training, and expertise to apply in their local school settings and communities.

ABOUT THE SUMMIT
The Summit is a free, virtual event that combines discussion, education, engagement, and knowledge-sharing among school safety stakeholders. Through the event, attendees will hear from government, private sector, and community leaders in the field, who will speak about current and critical school safety issues, threats, and solutions.
EVENT DETAILS
The Summit will be held virtually over the course of two days in November. Each day will consist of a three-hour session comprised of remarks, master class segments with subject matter experts, and roundtable discussions focused on critical issues related to school safety. Attendees will have multiple ways to engage during the Summit, including through live question and answer sessions and polling questions. Additional event details include:
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
CISA welcomes participation from any individual with a passion for improving school safety. The subject matter covered during the Summit is particularly relevant to K-12 school and district administrators; principals and superintendents; school-based law enforcement; teachers and school staff; mental health practitioners; first responders; federal, state, local, tribal and territorial government partners; and other school safety and security professionals.
